Most beard advice is written by people who’ve never grown one
You’ve seen it. The same recycled beard tips, the same hyped-up product lists, the same advice that sounds good and does nothing. I got tired of wasting money on beard oils that did nothing and following grooming routines that never stuck.
So I started writing down what actually worked for me. The styles I tried, the products I kept reaching for, the beard mistakes I made so you don’t have to. I’m not a barber and I’m not a brand. I’m just a guy who cares about getting his beard right and likes sharing the honest version.
No gimmicks, just honest beard advice
From a guy who actually grows a beard, not a brand trying to sell you one.
Real beard experience
Everything here comes from actually growing and grooming a beard, including the patchy phase, the itch, and all the trial and error in between.
My honest opinion
If I recommend a beard product, it’s because I think it’s genuinely good. My take is my own, not a paid placement dressed up as a review.
Practical, doable tips
Simple beard grooming routines that fit a normal life, not 30-step rituals you’ll never actually keep up with.
Every budget
Honest picks from cheap and cheerful to premium. A great beard doesn’t have to cost a fortune, and I’ll tell you when the pricey option isn’t worth it.
Everything beard, in one place
From that awkward first week of growth to a full beard that looks intentional.
Beard style guides
Which style suits your face shape, from stubble to full beards, goatees, and the beardstache.
Honest product guides
Beard oil, balm, butter, trimmers, and washes. What works and what’s worth your money.
Comparisons
Oil or balm? Trimmer or scissors? Clear answers for your beard type and routine.
Problem-solving
Beard itch, patchy growth, and split ends. Real fixes that actually help.
How I decide what’s worth recommending
Whether it’s a product or a style, here’s what goes in before I write about it.
I use what I can
Where I can get my hands on a product, I use it on my own beard. Where I can’t, I dig into the ingredients and a lot of real buyer reviews.
I check the details
Real prices, what is actually in a formula, and which beard type, face shape, or growth stage something genuinely suits.
I tell you straight
The honest pros and cons, including when a popular beard product or style just isn’t worth it.
Real changes you can see and feel
A healthier-feeling beard
A routine that keeps your facial hair softer, cleaner, and more comfortable, instead of dry and scratchy.
The right products for you
Stop buying beard products that sit unused. Build a kit that actually suits your beard type.
A style that fits
Find a beard style that works with your face shape and lifestyle, so it looks planned, not accidental.
Confidence trimming at home
Learn to trim, shape, and line up your beard yourself, with less reliance on the barber.
Straight answers
The stuff you actually want to know about beards, not filler written to hit a word count.
Wherever you are in your beard journey
It doesn’t matter if it’s week one or year five. I write for all of it.
No gatekeeping here. Just useful stuff for anyone who wants their beard looking and feeling good.

A bit about me
I’m Nauman Farooq. I grew my first proper beard in 2020 after years of being clean-shaven, and I’ve been figuring it out ever since. I’ve got a round face, so I tend to keep things a little longer and fuller, and I’m always changing up the style.
I’m not a grooming expert or a barber. This is just where I share what I’ve learned about beard care, honestly, so the next guy doesn’t have to make the same mistakes I did.
